The Jabiru operation in Huehuetenango, Guatemala operate a micro-warehouse in Union Cantinil, located in the heart of the municipality. There, coffees are hand-select and consolidated from over 76 small producers to create Jabiru. To buy coffee directly from these small producers, several micro warehouses and buying stations have been installed to cut costs of logistics and transportation for these farmers, keeping more funds in their communities.

20 different farmers contributed to this lot, originating from these small towns:

  • La Esperanza

  • La Laguna

  • Visat Hermosa

  • Villa Linda

  • Guantan

  • Tuiboch

These farmers have access to a program called “Coffee Kinders”, which is a kindergarten program for families. Many of the farmers are also part of the MOCCA or FORCAFE projects, which are focused on Good Agricultural Practice trainings to increase productivity of the farmers.
