Creation Decaf is currently sourced from the Cerrado region of Brazil, and is decaffeinated using the Swiss Water Process.
Swiss Water Process decaf coffee is a chemical-free method of decaffeination that uses water, temperature, and time to remove caffeine from coffee beans. This process preserves the bean's original flavor without the use of harsh chemicals. First, the beans are soaked in water to extract the caffeine. The water is then passed through a carbon filter, which traps the caffeine while leaving behind flavor compounds. The decaffeinated water, now rich in flavor, is reintroduced to the beans, ensuring they retain their original taste profile without the caffeine. This is our preferred method for producing high-quality, flavorful decaf coffee.
